About Forsyth County, Georgia
Forsyth County, Georgia's south end is located 30 miles north of Atlanta in the foothills of the Appalachian Mountains and extends along most of the west side of Lake Lanier, a 37,000 acre Army Corp of Engineers Reservoir.
It is a fast growing county with many new subdivisions. There are many things to do inside the county. A lot of people enjoy recreation on Lake Lanier. There are local sports teams of all ages. Several new communities are built around world class golf courses. Excellent shopping is inside the county or 10 miles to major malls. There is a wide range of home values from modest starter homes to upscale golf and country club communities and estates.
Georgia Highway 400 extending into Forsyth is continuing to be widened as the population continues to grow in the area. From the heart of Cumming (Forsyth's largest city) it is about a 45 minute drive to downtown Atlanta and just under an hour to the airport.
